Hellllo! As the APCM falls on our Vine Wednesday, we’ve decided to head to the Bridging the Gap event at St Andrews on Friday 27th April. Buy tickets on Sunday evening or call the office (447111) for £5 if you mention that you are part of The Vine.
They’ll be a ton of live music, snacks, and lots fun! So we’ll see you there :)
The Vine website/blog has been a little neglected and well…here’s to a happy future for it…
So we’re meeting next on March 28th (next Wednesday) for our second pub quiz. Our first one at the end of February was a great success and all had a lot of fun. We raised money for a local charity, Chasing Zero (sign up to hear more about what they get up to).
Come along on Wednesday, it’s only £1 each to join in. Matt ‘the quiz master’ White will be hosting again, don’t miss out!
Look forward to seeing you all there :)
On another note, The Stag pub is closing for refurbishment for a few weeks, so the pub quiz might be your last chance to be in there for a while!

25th January is Burns Night, so we thought, why not get a little Scottish for the evening!
They’ll be an Array of Scottish music, a wee bit of poetry, Scottish snacks, drinks, our own version of the Highland Games and a Scottish dress code (basically wear a tartan or checked piece of clothing).
Come along, we’ll be kicking things off from 7.30pm.
“Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers over a multitude of sins. Offer hospitality to one another without grumbling. Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms. If anyone speaks, they should do as one who speaks the very words of God. If anyone serves, they should do so with the strength God provides, so that in all things God may be praised through Jesus Christ. To him be the glory and the power for ever and ever. Amen.” 1 Peter 4:8-11 (NIV)
We had a little eye opening into where The Vine is heading at our last meeting. And for those of you weren’t able to be there, or were there but want a reminder of the bible verse, the above scripture was what was read out.

The wait is over… The Vine warmly invites you to… ‘A Night of Festivities’ The evening will kick off at 7.30pm on Wednesday 14th December at St Andrews Church. They’ll be a whole bunch of Christmassy delights including mince pies, home-baked treats and cosy drinks. We’ll also have some very special live music, starting at around 8.30pm, where, of course, there will be a few Christmas numbers to dance the night away (if you fancy). Because it’s Christmas and well we fancied an excuse to dress up a little, the evening will be smart dress, so dresses and suits ladies and gents. Please RSVP on the Facebook event, as this will help greatly with the catering logistics.
Book the date in your diary, invite your friends and iron your party wear, it’s going to be a Christmassy evening that you do not want to miss out.
We look forward to seeing you (and your beautiful frocks) on the night :)
Yesss folks, that’s right! We’re going to be getting all Christmassy and heading to Hyde Park Winter Wonderland on Wednesday 30th November. Below is a video (made by a friend of Sarah Jones) of the kind of things to expect at the Winter Wonderland. Think Christmas, think German markets, think bright lights, think Christmassy gifts, think Hyde Park! Sounds pretty perfect to me! It doesn’t cost anything to wander around, it’s totally your choice on how much you want to spend at the stalls. There’s even an ice rink and giant wheel, at around £10 each.
Travel wise. There will be a bunch of people meeting at Chorleywood station at 6.15pm to catch a 6.30pm train. But obviously it’s easier for some people to head straight there. So what we suggest, is to meet at Hyde Park Corner station at 7.30pm. If you could click attending to the event and write on the wall what your plan of action is, then we’ll know who to wait for at Chorleywood or Hyde Park Corner.
It’s going to be a great evening and we can’t wait to hang out with you all. Remember the date, spread the word, invite your friends and come along…
A snippet of Winter Wonderland…
Come along to the Stag where we’ll be meeting at 6.30pm on Wednesday 23rd November for dinner. If you can’t make it along for dinner, then come at 7.30pm where the night will continue as per usual, drinks, chit chat and small groups! We’re going to be looking at Philippians 4 and it would be great if you could have a little read through before hand. Just to note, this is the last instalment of Philippians and it’ll also be the last official Vine before Christmas as we’ve got two exciting socials coming up over the next month and a bit. Keep your eyes peeled…
It’ll be great to see you on Wednesday :) Have a superb week, we look forward to hearing all about it…
The Vine is gathering again at St Andrews, in the chapel (entrance is at the side of the church) on Wednesday 9th November. Last week was really fun at the Stag Pub, thank you to all who came and sorry to those of you who couldn’t make it. We’re still working our way through Philippians, so it would be really good if you could have a little read through Philippians 3 before hand. Remember, remember the fifth of November! Whatever your plans are, we hope you have fun. See you on Wednesday 9th, we look forward to seeing you there :)
Fireworks night is fast approaching (I know, where did the time fly right?) So around the Hertfordshire/Buckinghamshire area there are a variety of events going on, but one that I’d like to mention is Fireworks By The Lake, put on by Restore Hope Latimer, at Latimer HP5 1TU. You have to book in advance, £8 and you get food and drink as well as an amaaaazing fireworks display, what more could you ask for? They’ll be a range of people going, so book on, go together and have fun :) Don’t forget the sparklers…
It’s just under one week to go until we will be venturing up to the Stag pub again for The Vine. This term we’re going to be looking at Philippians and it would be great if you could squeeze a little time into your busy lives to read through Philippians 2 in preparation for some discussion.
We’re going to meet at 6.30pm for dinner at the Stag if you would like to come along too. If you are unable to attend for dinner, come for 7.30pm for some drinks, chit chat and then TIE groups.
For all of you who came last week, I hope you had a great time, we most certainly did and loved having Andy Reid come and join us. For those who couldn’t make it, we would love to see you at the next event, at the Stag pub on Wednesday 26th October.
Have a great week and we hope to see you on Wednesday :)
It’s coming to that time again when The Vine will be starting up. It’s a new term which means a new Vine. The Vine will kick off on Wednesday 12th October 7.30pm in the Chapel at St Andrews Church, with a guest speaker, Andy Reid. For those of you who haven’t met him yet, he’s the new curate at St Andrews and we’re really excited about him coming along. They’ll be drinks and nibbles, plenty of time to catch-up, a talk and some worship. So put it in your diaries, spread the word and come along! Take a look at the flyer for further details and postcodes so that you don’t get lost. We’re all really excited to see you there :)
